Reyna is a second-year medical student with a strong passion for highlighting Latinos in all fields of healthcare. She has observed the significant language, cultural, and socioeconomic barriers that hinder the Latino community from accessing quality healthcare and recognizes that these challenges exist even in specialty care where there are fewer Latino physicians.

Reyna firmly believes that it is essential for patients to feel comfortable with their healthcare providers. She is committed to being part of increasing representation in neurosurgery. If even one more Latino neurosurgeon can make patients feel seen, heard, and understood by a physician who speaks their language and can relate to cultural similarities, Reyna aims to be a contributor to that change.
