Rosa is a third-year medical student who has dedicated over seven years to working with marginalized populations through non-profit clinics. She has intentionally sought opportunities to use her bilingual skills, working in clinics where she could communicate with patients in Spanish to remove one more barrier in their access to care. Her personal experiences with language and cultural barriers in her own family have driven her passion for addressing these challenges in Latino communities.

Inspired by her heritage and community, Rosa helped found Latinos in Neurosurgery because of her deep belief in the importance of care delivered by providers who can speak their patients' native language and have a personal understanding of their culture. She is passionate about increasing Latino representation in neurosurgery and providing mentorship for current and future Latinos pursuing the field. Rosa is committed to growing the number of Latinos serving in healthcare and as neurosurgeons, creating a supportive space where Latinos at all stages of their medical journeys feel empowered and inspired to reach their goals.
